Club Brightens a Child’s Day!
Nothing
can replace the look of happiness on a child's face when someone
remembers his or her birthday. For too many abused and neglected
kids in San Diego, forgotten birthdays are just another reminder
of all the things they don't have. These children may be staying
at Polinsky Children's Center, or they may be in foster homes. They
may be abandoned teens involved in Independent Living Skills programs,
or the very young children of those teens.
You can make an abused child feel special by joining the Child Abuse
Prevention Foundation's Birthday Club. It's easy to join. You just
fill out the enclosed form and contribute $25. A child is selected
who shares your birthday month, and the $25 is forwarded to his
or her social worker who will help the birthday child choose a gift.
You may also honor a relative or a friend with a Birthday Club membership.
Honorees also receive a Suzy's Zoo Birthday card informing them
of the contribution in their honor.
Honorees also receive a letter filled with stories of how children
used their gift certificates that month.
