Can you help us?  Friends of the Foundation are always asking about how they can help meet the needs of the thousands of children we support in San Diego and now we have a list with the many ways to help.

The Child Abuse Prevention Foundation is now registered. You can visit the following retailers and websites to view our wish lists and registries while shopping online or in the stores:

Priority Items

  • New laptops – min. 1GB, MS Office Professional, Windows XP Professional
  • Auto insurance for CAPF van –
    1 year plan minimum
  • Conference table and chairs –
    10ft table, 15 chairs
  • Temporary hotel vouchers for CAPF Guardian Scholars. 10 days local lodging during spring/winter college breaks
  • Van  - 10 person with removable seating for cargo
  • Filing cabinets – 4/6 drawers, fireproof and locking. 2/3 drawer, locking/fireproof
  • Flat screen televisions for training and meeting purposes – 30” to 60” screens.
  • Move-in care packages – student apartments/dorms. Towels, dishes, pots/pans, linens, etc.

New Office Space – Needed for the Future

  • Office building or permanent office space – 15,000 sq ft and larger. Centrally located with ease of access, parking, individual office space for 20 & cubicles. Media, training, conference, break rooms.
  • Commercial land – 25,000 sq ft building or larger. Potential to accommodate multiple agencies

  • Underwriting for food/beverage service – training and community meetings (50 participant maximum)
  • Service Carts (2) – 2 shelves with wheels for food service at trainings and meetings
  • DVD/VCR combo players (2) with recording capability for Foundation trainings and meetings

Building and Maintenance

  • Monthly landscape maintenance at Mary’s House transitional program in Escondido – annual/semi-annual service contract.  Approximately $5000/year
  • Offsite storage facility – minimum 1500 sq ft

  • Free rent for CAPF Guardian Scholars – 1year/6 month. 1 bedroom apt. through out San Diego County
  • Holiday meal kits from local grocery stores

 

Children’s Programs

  • Tickets to sporting events – 2 ticket minimum

(Chargers, Padres, Aztecs for example)
  • Polinsky Children’s Center waiting room remodel. Paint, furniture (couch, chairs, loveseat, coffee table), toys, flooring
  • Tickets to plays, symphony, community theatres

Minimum of 2 tickets per event. Group tickets (4-20 tickets)
  • Teen books, DVDs and MP3 players

 
  • Group admission to local bowling, skate parks, ice skating and Balboa Park museums – min. 4
  • Developmental toys for children
